This proposal aims to enhance the learning and research experiences of undergraduate and graduate students through their participation in high-profile outreach activities: principally the Physics & Engineering Festival and the Physics Shows.

Outreach
- Organizer of the Physics and Engineering Festival (every spring since 2006). Attendance: over 4000 visitors. Our event is an Affiliate Festival to the USA Science & Engineering Festival and a member of the Science Festivals Alliance
- Organizer of the Big Physics Day: satellite event of the USA Science and Engineering Festival, fall 2010.
- Physics coordinator for Chemistry Open House and Science Exploration Gallery (every fall since 2006).
- Dozens of physics shows per year at local schools, for summer camps, student societies, College of Science and University-wide outreach and recruitment events etc. Over 12,500 people attended the Physics Show since 2007 when it started.
- Development of new demonstrations and shows
- Since 2008: Organizer of the Physics camp for the Youth Adventure Program. This camp is for gifted and talented middle school and high school students.
- Co-organizer (together with Bhaskar Dutta (director) and Alexey Belyanin) of the Mitchell Institute Physics Enhancement Program (MIPEP). The goal of MIPEP is to help teachers develop a deeper understanding of physics concepts, instructional strategies, and laboratory experiences that will enhance their classroom instruction and impact student performance in physics.
