  • 081008(W) Gluino-Sbottom GP Meeting #1, 9:00 FNAL (Cloud Chamber)/ 16:00 Karlsruhe [Connection : call 857268866 (85-sbottom)]
    Version 0.0 :
    • Make the instroduction stronger. Especially why gluino pair production is better than sbotom pair production? What is(are) new, compared to the previous publication?
    • Make the text clearer on:
      • the SUSY model assumption, such as the choice of squark masses
      • the choice of LO and NLO structure functions in different stages of the analysis
      • two NN analyses (1st NN → event selection → 2nd NN → event selection)
      • the motivation of the choice of small Δm = 20 GeV (b/c ET(b) > 25 GeV)
      • the analyses involiving the tag rate matrix and mistag matrix
      • the method of setting the limit (Bayesian approach?)
      • the reason why the authors chose the different reference points for optimization and Fig.3 (left)
      • how to extract the excluded region in M(sbottom)-M(gluino) plane by inclusion of the theoretical uncertainty
    • Fix Fig.2 caption (there is no "right" plot.)
    • Fig.3 - theoretical uncertainty band should be shown in a darker color in black-and-white printer
    • There was a disagreement of how to interpret the expected limits.
    • HWs for GPs
      • Do we agree with the title?
      • Do we agree with the choice of figures and tables?

  • 081003(F) "Kick-off" Gluino-Sbottom Godparent Meeting
    Date/Time/Room: Trailer 159 (big one) at 10:00 - 12:00 (FNAL), October 3, 2008 (Fri) [TK memo]
GPs' connection: Teruki from Texas, Hans at Fermilab, Dominic from Karlsruhe
    Connection : call 857268866 (85-sbottom)
If you don't have a video connection, you can still join:
    (a) dial 1-510-883-7860
    (b) wait for a announcement, and then type 857268866#
    (c) you should be connected now.
Miguel, Oscar, Dominic, Hans, Teruki, Jaco
    • Jaco reminded us three key issues in the GP review: (a) Physics contents, (b) Type of journal, (c) Timing. GPs and authors were also reminded that we make sure to prepare a strong cover letter to the journal editor to highlight why this paper is suitable for the journal.
    • Oscar/Miguel described the analysis briefly: search for sbottom in gluino decay in the 4b + MET final state. They controlled the QCD sample well to show the excluded region in M(sbottom)-M(gluino) plane.
    • GPs agreed we should submit this paper to PRL.
    • GPs need more time to read the first version of PRL, but agreed to send their comments by the early next week (e.g., Monday).
    • NEXT Meeting: 9 am FNAL/ 6 pm Karlsruhe, October 8 (Wed)

  • 080925 Miguel wonders the Kick-off meeting schedule.. My fault! Arranging the Kick-off meeting!! 10 AM (Fermilab Time) on Oct. 3?

  • 080906
... Miguel .. PRL draft will be ready in the next week.
... Teruki .. Proposed GP Kick-off Meeting - Oct 3 (Fri) or Oct 6 (Mon)?

  • 080904 Official GP Internal Page is ready with the final version of CDF note 9472.

  • 080829 Authors are preparing the official GP web site and the first draft (in ~10 days).
  • 080828 GP's travel plan
    Dominic .. 9/15 - 9/21 and 9/29 - 10/2
    Hans ..... 9/2 ~ 9/10
    Teruki ... 9/8 ~ 9/13 and 9/17 ~ 9/29

The first meeting of the Godparent Committee will be the "kick-off" meeting with the authors, Exotic Conveners (Ben Brau; Monica D'Onofrio) and the Spokespeople. The kick-off meeting should be held right after the final results are blessed by the physics group. The purpose of this meeting is:

    1. Review the guidelines for godparenting process
    2. Make sure everyone agrees on what analysis and results are going to be in the paper
    3. Iron out any disagreement or misunderstanding at this early stage
    4. Agree on a tentative time scale for paper submission

The Committee chair is in charge of organizing this meeting (and all the following ones).

We urge authors and godparents to carefully review and follow the guidelines for godparent committees and for the CDF publication process.

    They are posted here.

You will find the checklist from this page. Please follow that.
